Lest We Forget: Living with HIV/AIDS in an Age of Covid

Greetings friends,

Amidst the world’s traumas and tragedies, we pray that each of you, and your families, are doing as well as can be expected. It is especially during these troubling times that we want to extend our gratitude for all the many ways each of you continue to express your support for WomanPreach! Inc.

We had a remarkable turnout for our September Suicide Awareness program discussion (including our re-broadcast on social media). Still, we hope to reach even more people with our next crucial conversation. As we approach World AIDS Day, we are reminded of this silent epidemic and on Thursday, 30 November at 7:00p.m. (EST) the WomanPreach! Inc. Board will sponsor their third and final virtual program event for the year entitled – Lest We Forget: Living with HIV/AIDS in an Age of Covid. These dire times require authentic prophetic voices that continue to inspire compelling preaching and faithful action.

According to the July 2023 www.unaids.org global HIV/AIDS fact sheet, “While there have been significant declines in new infections since the mid-1990s…there were still about 1.3 million new infections in 2022, or about 3,500 new infections per day…and the impact on racial and ethnic minority communities is still increasing at alarming rates.” There is still much work left to do! How do we not lose sight of this deadly epidemic in the age of COVID? How can we amplify and not demonize the voices in our communities that seek to help increase awareness, end stigma and discrimination? How can we as faith leaders help build trust within the church / community and not ostracize and/or marginalize those in need of support and care? How do we preach life when far too many are journeying with death itself daily?

Lest we forget…our guests will help us remember as they share their experiences and expertise to address many of these critical questions and engage us in meaningful dialogue. Please register and join us on Thursday, 30 November at 7:00p.m. (EST)

It is the WomanPreach Way to prepare prophetic voices so that those who hear the gospel can “imagine and in hands-on ways, strive for a world where everyone’s daily needs are met and where all creation is protected and honored.”

THIS is who we are. THIS is our work. Will you join us?
