Peace (a prayer)
I stand small under the sweeping licorice sky
And her curious stars
Beneath the orange moon upon the shore
My body a beacon to broken souls
The stress of everyday
The stress of having a heartbeat
Of loving my enemies
Washes from me
As water soaks in my pores and cleans my feet
I am baptized in each wave
My arms wide to the wind
Head held high
Mouth agape
I praise the Creator of all
O how magnificent
O how I sing Your praise
For a way out of no way
For a window to crawl through
A doorway to pass under
A dollar for my fare
What a mighty way my journey has been
You carried me in the crook of Your arm
Now I rest peacefully
In the bend of Your ease
You be my peace
You be my comfort
My answer
My rock
Paper
Scissors
My everything
My peace
My peace
My peace
My peace be You
Be the calm between my ears
Be chamomile
Be jasmine
Be my rest in the busy of a New York night
You be my guide
My money
My healer
My bread come supper time
Glory
Glory
Glory be unto You
Unto You
You give me rest
Deliverance
Love
You give me light
Peace
Ease
